Crime Scene Management

Crime scene management often involves the forms of physical evidence, collection and management by qualified forensic experts. it is a process that must be done quickly but with utmost care to safeguard whatever was left behind. Unwittingly many criminals leave behind a lot of physical evidence in forms of fingerprints, body fluids, footprints, hair and even fibers from clothes which will serve as strong evidence for or against them if carefully analyzed, hence the need to have proper crime scene management.

First and foremost the crime scene must be cordoned off from members of the public and any other unauthorized and unqualified people. this is usually done by the first officers on the site. Then qualified forensic experts take over to scrap, observe, scan and many other ways of of determining how evidence might present itself. The final process is careful documentation and packaging of the evidence in tamper-proof containers before being sent to the lab for further analysis.
